Chapter 29 - What Changed the NeighborhoodA university researcher interviewed residents about HOA reform.

They expected the answer to be:
Halloween.
It was not.
Mrs. Alvarez said:
“The Halloween incident got attention.”
Tasha:
“The emails proved intent.”
David:
“The financial records proved conflict.”
Melissa:
“The residents speaking together changed governance.”
Jake:
“The police handled the porch.”
Noah typed:
PEOPLE LISTENED LATE. THEN BETTER.
The researcher asked:
“Who was the hero?”
Everybody hated the question.
Melissa answered:
“Noah was a child.”
Jake added:
“The football team were witnesses.”
Mrs. Alvarez:
“Maya was a lawyer doing her job.”
David:
“Police did theirs.”
Tasha:
“Neighbors finally did ours.”
No single hero.
