Chapter 18 - The Traitor's Fall

Victor laughed cruelly, convinced he finally held the ultimate advantage.

"You are too soft for this world, Reyes," Victor mocked, pressing the barrel of his gun against Vanessa's temple.

"Drop your weapon right now, or I paint the floor with her brains."

Vanessa sobbed uncontrollably, absolutely terrified and completely helpless.

Naomi slowly bent her knees and placed her pistol gently onto the concrete floor.

Victor smiled triumphantly, pushing Vanessa away and raising his gun to shoot Naomi in the chest.

But Naomi had not surrendered.

She had simply freed her hands to grab the throwing knife concealed inside her left boot.

With a motion faster than the human eye could track, Naomi whipped her arm forward.

The heavy steel knife sailed through the air and embedded itself deeply into Victor's shooting shoulder.

Victor screamed in pure agony, dropping his weapon as the impact threw him backward.

The two remaining guards lunged at Naomi, drawing heavy combat knives from their belts.

Naomi stepped gracefully inside the first guard's wide swing, delivering a crushing elbow strike to his jaw.

He collapsed completely in a heap of broken teeth and blood.

The final guard tried to tackle her around the waist, relying on his massive size and weight.

Naomi simply shifted her stance, using his own momentum to throw him brutally into the solid steel wall.

The sound of his skull bouncing off the metal echoed loudly through the empty warehouse.

The fight was completely over.

Naomi walked slowly over to where Victor was groaning on the floor, clutching his bleeding shoulder.

She calmly picked up her pistol and pointed it directly at his chest.

"You really shouldn't have brought your business to my city," Naomi whispered.

Suddenly, the massive warehouse doors rolled open, flooding the room with blinding police spotlights.
