Chapter 6 - The Viper's Impatience.
Autumn turned bitter cold, and the wedding day was rapidly approaching.
Dean and Camille grew incredibly impatient with their grand master plan.
They met in the wine cellar, unaware that Massimo had placed hidden microphones everywhere.
Sitting in his private quarters, Massimo listened to the audio feed through a specialized earpiece.
"The board of directors wants to replace him if he doesn't recover soon," Dean whispered angrily.
"Then we finish it before the wedding," Camille replied coldly.
They planned to have Dr. Hale administer a final, lethal dose of the toxin.
It would look like a tragic heart attack caused by his weakened condition.
Dean would then assume control of the family, acting as the grieving, loyal successor.
Massimo removed the earpiece, a chilling smile forming on his handsome face.
He picked up a burner phone and dialed the number of his most loyal captain, a man named Enzo.
Enzo had been banished by Dean months ago under false pretenses.
