Chapter 3 - The Hospital Crisis
The sleek, black limousine tore through the city streets, ignoring every traffic law to get Chloe to the hospital.
When she sprinted through the emergency room doors, the front desk receptionist gave her a pitying look.
"I'm sorry, Chloe, but your mother's insurance just denied the coverage for the procedure," the receptionist said quietly.
Chloe collapsed against the counter, sobbing as her entire world shattered into a million pieces.
She had worked herself to the bone for forty-eight hours straight, and it still wasn't enough to save her mom.
Suddenly, a heavy, comforting hand rested firmly on her trembling shoulder.
Alexander stepped forward, tossing an exclusive black titanium credit card onto the front desk.
"Charge whatever is necessary to save that woman's life, and put her in the absolute best VIP suite," he commanded.
Chloe stared at him in shock, realizing for the first time that this handsome stranger was unbelievably wealthy.
